Course Content

What the Course Covers

On a fire-watch post, you are the alarm system. This is the training that makes that credible.

How Fire Behaves

The fire triangle, how fire spreads, and the first sixty seconds that decide whether a small fire stays small.

Extinguishers

Classes A, B, C, D and K. Which extinguisher for which fire, the PASS technique, and when NOT to fight a fire at all.

Alarm & Suppression Systems

Pull stations, sprinklers, standpipes, and what the panel is actually telling you.

Fire Watch Duties

Patrol routes, logs, hot-work monitoring, and the record-keeping the fire marshal will ask for.

Evacuation

Moving people out safely — including occupants who cannot move themselves. Assembly points and headcounts.

Reporting

What to report, to whom, and how fast. Clear documentation after the fact.

Before You Enroll

Requirements

No Prerequisites

Open to anyone. You do not need an active Guard Card to take this course.

Valid Photo ID

California driver license or state ID.

03

18 or Older

Minimum age to enroll.
