MSTA also offers the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) required Initial Twenty (20) hours Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) Skills Training and Continuous Education Training.
Proprietary Security Officer are now required to complete the Eight (8) hours Power to Arrest and Appropriate use of Force training.
The Power to Arrest and Appropriate Use of Force training course now consists of two (2) subjects, with a total of eight (8) hours of training and are administered in classroom, as follow:
- Power to Arrest, 3 hours.
- Appropriate Use of Force, 5 hours.
The topics include:
- The use of objectively reasonable force;
- The use force review and analysis;
- De-escalation and interpersonal communication; and
- Active shooter situation
The Training is provided to any qualified U. S. Citizen or U. S. Legal Permanent Resident (Male or Female) who is 18 years old or older; and is seeking PSO Registration (License) with BSIS for Employment Opportunities, to work Exclusively for Proprietary Private Security Employers (PSE).
PSE included: Individuals, For-Profit and Non-Profit Business Owners, who are licensed by BSIS to provide Private Security Services for the Exclusive Protection for themselves and for the Protection of their Personal Assets.
BSIS Active PSE License Holders who employed PSO License Holders to Exclusively provide them with Private Security Services as W4 Employees, includes, but are not limited to the following:
- Hotels
- Hospitals
- Casinos
- Corporate Executives
- Department Stores
- Private individuals
- Super Markets
- Banks
- Church
- Night Clubs
- Restaurants
- Manufacturing Plants
- Movie Theaters, Sports and Entertainments, etc.
