Meaway Security Training Academy (MSTA) is a California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) licensed Firearms Training Facility.
MSTA was Founded and License August 2011, with the business objectives to provide California required Security Guard (G) Training, Firearm Qualification (FQ) Training, Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) Training and other Private Security related Skills Training Courses to the following individuals:

  • New Applicants who are seeking California Guard Card, PSO Card, PSE Card, and Permit for Exposed Firearm, etc.

  • Active Guard Card and Permit for Exposed Firearm Holders who are seeking additional and/or continue Education Training.

Benefits for Training with Meaway Security Training Academy (MSTA):

MSTA provides quality and comprehensive hands-on training per California Assembly Bill 2880, Senate Bill 194 and B&PC 7585, etc., in compliance with BSIS Laws, Rules and Regulations.

MSTA Power to Arrest Trainers and Firearm Instructors are licensed by BSIS, and consists of Former Peace Officers with extensive experience in both Private and Public Law Enforcement Operations.

MSTA training activity is conducted, utilizing BSIS issued updated Training Manuals, DVDs and other Approved Training Manuals and DVDs.

At MSTA, all students are trained and treated equally, regardless of gender, national origin, race, sexual or religious preference, or passed criminal history.

All students are issued ‘Certificate of Training’ upon successful completion of each Course. Upon receiving a License (Guard Card), each graduate is provided with viable employment leads.

TO ALL APPLICANTS!

If seeking a License (Guard Card or PSO Card) ‘ONLY’ Training, please be prepared to complete the State of California required initial eight (8) hours of Security Guard (G) /Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) Skills Training, with a passing score of 100 percent.

If seeking BSIS License (Permit for Exposed Firearm), please be prepared to complete the required initial Fourteen (14) hours of Firearms Qualification (FQ) Training, with a minimum Passing Scores as follow: Eight (8) hours Classroom Training Session, 80 percent and Six (6) hours Firearm Range Training Session, 85 percent.

To participate in the Firearm Training Program, each Applicant must be twenty one (21) years old and older. To register for the Firearm Training Course, each student must provide his or her:

  • BSIS Active Guard Card and Forty (40) hours Power to Arrest Training Certificate.
  • U.S. Birth Certificate or U.S. Passport or U.S. Military ID Card (DD214).
  • Active Driver License or Photo ID Card.
  • Legal Permanent Resident ID Card, if not a U.S. Citizen.
  • U.S. Social Security Card.
  • The Appropriate Training Fees.

Any Applicant without Forty (40) hours Power to Arrest Training Certificate must be prepared to register and complete the required Forty (40) hours Power to Arrest Training Course.

California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Active Guard Card Holders with Eight (8) hours Power to Arrest Training Certificates are required to register and complete the remaining Thirty Two (32) hours Power to Arrest Training Course.

MSTA Training Hours:

Time: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Days: Monday thru Friday.

Saturday: 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (by appointment, only).

Closed: Sunday and Federal Holiday.
